Stances on CA Issues

Oct 19 2024: Endorse Commuting Death Sentences

Together with the group Clemency California and others, the CA ASP has endorsed urging Gov. Newsom to "commute the death sentences of every individual on death row in California without delay."

Feb 2024: Support of Protect Kids Initiative

This proposed initiative would repeal California law that permits male students to compete in female sports and these students to be in females locker rooms and bathrooms, prohibit schools from deceiving parents about their students gender identity crisis and stop them from secretly transitioning a child and stop sex change operations and chemical castrations on minors in California. Aligned with the official party platform, the California ASP has officially endorsed this initiative.

Aug 2022: Opposition to Proposition 1

Proposition 1 was a proposed constitutional amendment to the California constitution to make abortion a right in all times of pregnancy. As the American Solidarity Party upholds the dignity of every human person including the unborn, the CA ASP has officially opposed Proposition 1.

June 2022: Support for SB 1407 Expanding Employee Ownership Act

As the American solidarity party platform states, “we advocate for an economic system which focuses on creating a society of widespread ownership (sometimes referred to as distributism) rather than having the effect of degrading the human person as a cog in the machine.” The CA ASP therefore strongly endorsed SB 1407 in the California legislature, the expanding employee ownership act which seeks to make it easier for businesses to change to a model in which workers would be able to share in ownership and decisions of the business.
